Southwest Thailand

After Chiang Mai I flew to Bangkok... wow it was hot and dirty and smelly and big and so so so hot. Took a nice trip around the city looking for my walkman lead which I still do not have so am music less still. Then saw the Grand Palace which was amazing, a lot of gold everywhere and saw the famous Emerald Budda, which is actually made of Jade!

I took at trip out to Kanchurburi, the heart of the Japanese rein over Thailand during the second World War, and got to see the bridge over the River Kwai and ride on the death railway. I also got to sit in a lot of buses and get shipped around to various places according to our stickers. I had a nice pink sticker which meant I didn't get to go elephant Riding or Bamboo Rafting (luckily I had just done those in Chiang Mai) but apparently they were the best parts of the trip, oh well.

Flying to Surthani in the South was the quickest way out of Bangkok and to the Islands. We spent one night on Ko Samui in a quiet resort on the northeast Coast which was absolutely stunning.

We are now in Ko Phangan, spent today snorkeling, which was great although I am disappointed not to be able to dive. So now I am preparing myself up to the full moon party, not sure what to expect but I am keeping an open mind.

love to all jen xxxx
